Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Fudge
Ingredients
1 x 397 g can condensed milk
225 g good quality dark chocolate, finely chopped
175 g good quality milk chocolate, finely chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract
To decorate (optional)
Around 150 g white chocolate, melted (see tip)
Homemade fudge can often be a tricky process when made using the traditional method. This recipe using just 5 ingredients creates super simple (and utterly delicious) fudge squares. Perfect for popping in cellophane bags or pretty boxes to give to friends this Christmas…
Method
Grease and line a 20 cm / 8-inch square tin with greaseproof paper and set aside.
Chop the cookies into small pieces (4 horizontal x 4 vertical) and tip into a bowl. Set aside.
Pour the condensed milk into a heavy-based saucepan, add the chopped chocolates and vanilla extract. Heat gently, stirring all the time, until you have melted, smooth and thick mix. Remove from the heat.
Add the chopped cubes of cookies and mix well until completely coated in the condensed milk-chocolate.
Spoon into the prepared tin and smooth over the top using the back of a clean metal spoon until completely flat. Leave to cool completely before covering and chilling for at least 4 hours – or until set.
Remove from the tin, peel off the greaseproof, and cut into around 25 small squares – these are very rich so you only need bite-sized pieces.
If decorating with white chocolate: Set the chocolate pieces onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper (or a wire rack with greaseproof paper underneath). Spoon the melted white chocolate into a disposable piping bag and snip a little off the end. Pipe lines diagonally across each of the squares. Leave to set.
Cook’s Tip
You could also use our Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate or Chocolate & Vanilla cookies instead of Chocolate Chip, if you prefer. The exact amount of white chocolate needed for decorating will depend on the size of your fudge squares.
